Mahasu Mitra Mandal -- The Beginings

Society is a process of associating and a web of social relationship. The physical awareness of one another is pre-requisite of social relation. A social relationship, in other words, implies reciprocal awareness. It also means likeness based on comradeship, intimacy and association of any kind or degree. The people who some degree of social ideas and costumes, have common traditions, common language and dialect, conform to the same mores, having more or less the same sentiments and attitudes forma common group.


The Mahasu Mitra Mandal is such a collectivity of individuals for carrying out the greatest share of their acitivities. There are occasions and the occasions are countless when the individual need one or the other kind of help. In view of the similarity of interests and common problems as many as 38 individuals assembled in the Committee Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Solan (HP) on 16-02-1992 at 2:00 pm and decided to give a formal shape toe the group of individuals as an association henceforth to be called “ The Mahasu Mitra Mandal” (MMM). It is a registered body under Societies Act XXI 1860 with Regd. No. 32/92 having a total membership of more than 200.
